Monday 10 am – 4 pm
Tuesday 10 am – 6 pm
Wednesday 10 am – 4 pm
Thursday 10 am – 4 pm
Friday 10 am – 4 pm
  • Our Adviceline is not open on bank holidays.
  • For information on temporary changes to opening hours, look on our news page.
  • Sometimes our line is very busy, especially in the mornings. You might have to ring back. At the moment Tuesday afternoon is a good time to ring.
  • Sometimes if we have no advisor free to talk to you, an advisor from the national Adviceline will pick up your call.
  • If no one is available to talk to you, you can choose from a number of options. One of the options is to listen to recorded information. This is available 24 hours per day.
  • At the beginning of your call you will be advised how much the call will cost. If needed, we can call you back to save on call charges.
    What happens when you talk to us?

  • The advisor will ask a a number of questions to work out how best to help you.
  • If need be, they will make an appointment with you for advice over the phone or in person.
  • The advisor will tell you if you need to have any paperwork ready for an appointment.
  • They will also give you a phone number to call in case you cannot make your appointment time.
  • Please tell us if you would like advice in another language – we might be able to arrange an interpreter.
